Cures for the blues

The weather kind of sucks right now in New York.   It can’t decide whether to be warm and rain, or cold and snow, so it kind of hovers back and forth between the two.   Add to that the flu which many people seem to be dealing with through a process of denial that includes them wandering around public places talking about how they really think they’re ok, despite the 12 hours of vomiting they just endured or the nasty cough they can’t quite be bothered to cover.  (Or like the woman who went out on Saturday and then ran through a crowd of people standing in line for the bathroom – of which I was one – yelling “I think I’m going to throw up!  I think I’m going to throw up!”)

On Sunday we’re heading out to the Bahamas for five days, which is a definite “pick me up”, but there are 3+ long days until then – not to mention that a lot of you aren’t coming with us –  so here are some other things to chase away the flip-flop winter flu season blues.

About Amy

Amy Milstein was born and raised on a farm in Indiana, but after 20+ years considers herself a full-fledged New Yorker. She is married with two kids, who do not go to school but are instead life learners. This means they learn by living in the world (real life ) instead of hearing about it and simulating it in a classroom. With her family, Amy loves to travel, read, watch movies, write, sew, knit - the list is endless.
