Photos of the day
It was so warm today that we all shed our coats and searched my Mom’s house for light jackets we could borrow. In Ben’s case he scored a jean jacket that belonged to my brother some 40 years ago and which boasted a Massey Ferguson patch. (Massey Ferguson for the non-farm people out there is a brand of farm equipment.)

We made our yearly trek across the valley to treasure hunt around the foundation of a house that was long gone 60 years ago. We didn’t score any great finds this time, but while there we did witness the flight of some sandhorn cranes, heading south.

And even in winter, the vegetation is photogenic:

About Amy
Amy Milstein was born and raised on a farm in Indiana, but after 20+ years considers herself a full-fledged New Yorker. She is married with two kids, who do not go to school but are instead life learners. This means they learn by living in the world (real life ) instead of hearing about it and simulating it in a classroom. With her family, Amy loves to travel, read, watch movies, write, sew, knit - the list is endless.

The sandhill cranes must know something. They were heading southwest, and now the weather is predicted to be “real winter”, with snow and all. But yesterday was a great day for outdoor prowling.
